The activities on this page are intended to be of genuine interest to all students. I hope that you can use the activities not only to further your English development but also to have fun and learn something about a new topic. I have also posted a couple of mobile phone QR Code activities. These are just basic examples of how mobile phones can be used in the learning process. You will need to have pop-ups enabled on your web browser as the quizzes and crosswords will open in a new window which you can close when finished.

Mobile Phone QR Code Activities

The QR Codes shown above contain two sentences. You must identify the contextual components of one of the sentences. You will need to scan the above QR Code with your mobile phone in order to access the full question. You will be looking to identify a possible five components. These are,
topic, restriction or expansion, aspect, instruction and viewpoint. It is possible that the above sentences do not contain all five components so take care in your answer.

The two examples above feature a number of words with the stress shown in different places. Your task is to choose the correct stress pattern. You will need to practice saying each aloud in order to make your choice. The main stress is shown in large letters.
If you think you have the answer then post it on my Message Forum and I will respond to you individually.

The A4 sized sheet above is another example of using QR code tasks for homework. Within each of the codes above there is a 250 character limited question which refers to one of the pictures. The student will instantly have that question saved on to his/her mobile phone giving ultimate mobility and no excuses for losing the homework. If you have a mobile phone then scan the above and try the questions for yourself.
